Super simple. Very tasty! No standard melt sandwich, today we elevate it to a tuna melt by adding some tuna! By making your own mayo, you give this sandwich a whole new dimension!
Ingredients
- sourdough bread 8 slices
- 2 can tuna in water drained
- red onion
- 2 celery sticks
- red pepper (to taste)
- 2 large dill pickles
- cheddar cheese
- gouda cheese (optional)
- vegetable oil
- lemon juice (to taste)
- 1 tsp mustard
- Egg yolk
- salt
- pepper
Directions
Finely chop the red onion, celery, red pepper to taste and dill pickle.
- in a blender add the mustard, egg yolk, salt, pepper, lemon juice. Blend and slowly add vegetable oil, until mayonnaise consistency is reached.
- in a bowl mix the chopped ingredients with the mayonnaise.
- on a slice of sourdough, add the tuna mixture and a generous amount of the cheddar and gouda cheese, top of with another slice of sourdough
- in a pan with lit on medium heat add butter and the sandwich, bake until golden brown. spread some of the mayonnaise on the top side and flip the sandwich, fry until golden brown.
