Super simple. Very tasty! A Dutch delicacy, this recipe is originally made in Friesland, a province in the Netherlands! This is delicious as a snack, dessert with some ice cream or just whenever you want! A little bit of butter and everyone will love it!
Ingredients
- 350 gr wheat flour
- 150 ml whole milk
- 30 g white caster sugar
- 25 g butter
- 7 g instant yeast
- 7 grams of salt
- 3 tbsp ginger syrup
- 1 egg
- 175 g pearl sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 20 g butter
- Sunflower oil
- 25 g pearl sugar
- Granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- Some butter

Directions
- Add the ingredients for the dough to a bowl and knead for 20 minutes.
- Grease a bowl with some sunflower oil, put in the dough, cover with a warm wet towel and let is rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size
- Mix all the ingredients for the filling
- Press flat the dough and spread ⅓ of the filling on it. Fold the dough in three. Press flat again and spread ½ of the filling, fold in three. Repeat one more time. Press the dough flat so it is even wide as your baking tray and roll the dough into a big sausage shape.
- Grease the baking tray, put in some baking paper, grease the baking paper, sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Layer 25 gr of pearl sugar in the bottom and put in the dough with the fold edge on the bottom.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius or 400 degrees Fahrenheit
- Brush the top of the dough with a beaten egg and sprinkle with some pearl sugar.
- Place a cup of water in the oven together with the bread and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown
- Let the bread cooldown, serve and enjoy!
